These custom blown head cement jars are one of a kind pieces created by Moonshine Glass Art right here in Enterprise Oregon. These jars were crafted specifically for fly tyers and feature wide bases that prevent tipping and spilling. The stopper top features a built in fine bodkin for precise cement application. I’ve been using one of these for over a year during production tying and have yet to spill a drop.

I recommend using a water based polycrylic lacquer found at most hardware stores. A quart will run about $15 and is nearly a lifetime supply. I’ve been using Minwax water based polycrylic for all my production tying. While it’s milky white upon application, it dries clear with an awesome glossy finish.

Note: Using solvent based lacquer may result in degradation of the stopper top. Replacement stopper tops are available, just call or email for details.
